Robinsun wishes you a happy solar Easter
This week is Easter week and a time that many of us spend with their families or traveling. What does Easter mean for your energy consumption? It can be a great opportunity to produce a lot and, if you’re traveling, get compensated for the energy you don’t use.
Longer, sunnier days drive up production
As we wrote recently, Easter coincides with the start of spring. Days get longer and sunnier, increasing the productivity of your plug & play solar kit. More solar energy can power long family reunions at day and at night when the many appliances in the kitchen are used a lot. Enjoy the peace of mind with the people you love, knowing that your power bill is well under control and your Easter carbon footprint will be lower.
Increase your production and use your surplus in other times of the day
If you live in Spain and have certified your kit, you can take advantage of the full solar power production of your kit also when you’re not using the electricity you generate. Once you have notified your power company that you installed a kit, and sent them your CIE (certificado de instalación eléctrica), the first thing your power company will do is to balance out the kWh that you feed into the network (your surplus) with the ones you consume and pay. This lowers the amount of kWh you have to buy from the power company, and therefore your bills. Should you produce more than you consume on a monthly basis, you will even get paid for the surplus.
If you’re traveling this Easter, your home consumption will likely be very low. Only your fridge, freezer, wifi router and a few other devices will consume a little. This might see you generate a lot of surplus, that will be accounted against your consumption on other days. As a result, your power bill might be exceptionally low.
Conclusions
Either way, you might be up for a good time with your solar kit this Easter, be it enjoying free solar energy with friends and family, or getting a lower power bill once you’re back. The entire team at Robinsun wishes you a happy, sunny and solar holiday.
